How it works

Three steps to protection.

Office Guard Home checks the email and texts you already receive, the moment they arrive, for the marks of a scam. When something is wrong, you get a warning that says what we found, who it came from, and what to do. When nothing is wrong, you hear nothing.

1. Connect your email

Gmail, Outlook.com, Yahoo, iCloud, AOL or your own domain. For Gmail and Outlook it is a sign-in with Google or Microsoft; for the others an app password, with the steps on screen. It takes a minute and you do it once, on any device.

2. Install the app

Office Guard Home on iPhone or Android watches texts from numbers not in your contacts. A scam text gets a warning the moment it arrives, with the reason and a one-tap way to block the number. Texts from your contacts are never touched.

3. Add your family

On the Family plan, invite up to four more people. Each connects their own email and phone and sees their own warnings. You see who is protected and that a warning fired, never anyone's mail.

What a warning looks like

A notification on your phone and a card in the app, in plain words. No scores, no jargon. For example:

Critical

A family emergency asking for money

A message from "Danny" says he is in jail after an accident and needs $2,400 in gift cards today, and asks you not to tell anyone. This is the shape of the grandparent scam. Call Danny on the number you already have for him. Do not buy gift cards or send money on the strength of a message.

Every warning ends with something you can do: call them on a number you already had, do not click the link, hang up and call the bank yourself. Each one is kept in the app for thirty days, then it goes.

What we check your email for

The scams aimed at people and families, not the ones aimed at businesses. A relative in trouble, gift cards as the only way to pay, tech support that needs remote access, a prize with a fee, the IRS or the police threatening arrest, a bank alert that wants you to click, a package that needs a small fee, a new friend or an investment that turns to money. Plus the two that catch everyone: a dangerous link, and a familiar name writing from an address they have never used.

What we never do

  • Keep your mail. Each message is checked in memory as it arrives and let go. There is no copy on our side to read later.
  • Change, hide, delete, or answer a message. We warn; you decide.
  • Read texts from your contacts. The app looks only at texts from numbers you do not know, and the text itself never leaves your phone.
  • Show a family member your mail. The organizer sees that you are protected and that a warning fired. You can turn even that off.
  • Sell or share anything about you. Read the security and privacy page.
